Watched: Wasteman 🍿

This is such a watchable movie despite it’s brutality, but the 4:3 aspect ratio and tight 90-minute runtime make every moment feel like the walls are closing in. Suffocating cinema by design.

Pushing back on those walls are mighty performances from David Jonsson and Tom Blyth. Jonsson radiating barely-contained panic while Blyth is magnetic and terrifying, a screen presence you can’t look away from even it feels uncomfortable.

It’s an awesome debut by Cal McMau. He’s got a brilliant eye for composition, never wasting a single frame. I cant wait to see what he brings to the screen next.

You might think this is one to skip the cinema and watch at home, but trust me, this is one to be experienced on the big screen.
